Michigan Senate Bill 40 Implication to Stakeholders

Employers may see an increase in the benefit charge amounts against their unemployment tax accounts over the next three years. This could have a negative impact on their annual unemployment tax rate.

Recommended Action

Audit all benefit charge statements received to confirm accuracy since benefit charges have an impact on unemployment tax rates. Question any errors or discrepancies discovered.
