About Dr. Rebecca Pope

Dr. Rebecca Pope (she/her) is a Clinical Neuroscientist and previous Director of Data Science & AI for KPMG UK. Before joining KPMG in 2017, Rebecca worked as a data scientist at IBM and researcher at The National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery, UCLH, and the Wellcome Centre for Human Neuroimaging, UCL.

In July, Rebecca will be joining the global biotechnology healthcare company, Roche, as their ‘UK Digital & Data Science Innovation Lead;’ working with an ecosystem of partners towards personalized healthcare within Oncology and Rare Diseases.

Rebecca is a regular keynote speaker at international conferences, has delivered a TEDx talk titled ‘How can AI help our NHS and should we be concerned?;’ was voted as ‘The Most Influential Women in UK Tech (2019 & 2020); is an honorary Data Scientist at Great Ormond Street Hospital’s DRIVE Unit, Ph.D. supervisor, and Senior Research Fellow at UCL (ICH), specializing in the application of machine learning to real-world problems in healthcare. Rebecca has published several academic research papers, written several scientific commentaries in The Times and The Guardian, and is the recipient of National awards for her research.

Rebecca is a passionate advocate of diversity and inclusion. She is an active member of several networks (StonewallOneHealthTechSheCanCode) that encourage an inclusive environment where everyone feels empowered.
