Maria Jaramillo
Maria Jaramillo is the division director for financial empowerment at National Disability Institute. Maria has extensive experience designing and implementing initiatives to strengthen the financial health of low-income communities. She has spearheaded pilot programs that test new ideas and innovative approaches to increase financial inclusion in the U.S. and in developing countries.
Prior to joining NDI, Maria carried out a secondment in the Office of Financial Education at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Prior to CFPB she worked for the nonprofits Microfinance Opportunities and ACCION providing technical assistance to banks and microfinance institutions.
Maria holds a master’s degree in international relations from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University, and a bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College.
