Prefill demo method
Use this method to have input fields automatically prefilled with a test consumer profile.

Select the product you'd like to test from the Products Tab.

Select the "Prefill demo method" from the Access subcode dropdown menu.

Star^SM database demo method
Use this method to manually request a specific type of profile using one of Experian's test cases. There is a wide variety of test data available for download from our secure server. The STAR Test Data download site has a wide variety of test consumer listings with statistics on each consumer. It also contains specific common test conditions spelled out for ease of use. Examples of specific conditions include FACTA alerts, frozen files and OFAC hits.

Procedure for requesting STAR Test Data:

Please complete the STAR Test Data Request Form and the Test Data Confidentiality and Security Agreement. Scan and email the completed forms to STAR.Testing@experian.com. 

How to use the STAR test cases:

1. Select the product you'd like to test from the Products Tab in Experian Access.
2. Select the "STAR^SM database demo method" from the Access subcode dropdown menu.
3. From the STAR test data files, choose a profile condition you're interested in testing and input the information into the appropriate form fields.

Note:  The password for downloading test data is changed by the Experian testing group every 90 days. If you get “LOGON FAILED”, please don’t continue using the same password multiple times, as this could lock the user ID. Send an email to STAR.Testing@experian.com to request the current password.

Common addresses

All addresses have the following minimum components: 1) House Number, 2) Street Number and 3) City, State, ZIP Code

Additional characters in addresses

When additional characters, such as apartment number, house number fraction or street directional are present in the address, input the characters as they would be written on an envelope for mailing purposes.

Street names

Input the street name as it appears on the application. Alpha or numeric names are accepted. Always include the associated "street type" word after the street name (i.e., St, Dr, or Ln).

Addresses without house numbers

When a house number is missing from an address, type the street name and accompanying city, state and ZIP as you normally would. Do not leave blank spaces or fill in the house number section of the inquiry with zeros.

Military addresses

To enter domestic military addresses, enter the location and/or unit information in the address field, and the base name in the city field. Select the state from the state drop down menu. Enter zip code in the zip code field.

To enter foreign military addresses, input the "APO" or "FPO" designators in the city field. Then select AA, AE or AP from the bottom of the state drop down menu. Enter zip code in the zip code field.

Mexican addresses

The typical address consists of a type of street, street name, house number (and optional directional), city, state and country code (MX).

To enter a Mexican address, enter the street address, city name and leave state field blank(unselected) and in the zip code field enter Mexico.

Enter a post office box-related word first, followed by the box number.

The primary Mexican words for post office are APDO, APDO Postal,

APDO AEREO, AP Postal, APDO Numero, APARTADO.

Canadian addresses

Follow the U.S. address rules for house number and street name. For the city, state part of the inquiry, input the city and province code followed by the six-character, alpha-numeric ZIP code. When CD or CN are present in the address line, Experian's system recognizes the address as Canadian.
