DAKAR, Senegal - Experian MicroAnalytics and Creditinfo reaffirmed their strategic partnership during the 6th Annual BIC-UEMOA conference, held September 25 to 27, 2024, at the King Fahd Palace Hotel in Dakar. This event, organized by Creditinfo West Africa, brought together key industry players under the theme “The Credit Bureau and Digitalization in the Credit Granting Process.”
Sammy Hamoudi, Managing Director of Experian MicroAnalytics, delivered a presentation highlighting the use of alternative data in credit evaluation, emphasizing the importance of digitization in enhancing financial inclusion in the region. His presentation underscored the role of non-traditional data in expanding access to credit, particularly for emerging markets.
The Future of Credit in West Africa
The strategic partnership between Experian MicroAnalytics and Creditinfo, initially announced in June 2024 in Kenya, is now extending into West Africa with new initiatives focused on the unique demands of this market. The partnership promotes a more inclusive approach to credit evaluation, utilising the most advanced technologies and innovative data assets to help lending institutions drive up eligibility, expand lending offers and minimise risk exposure in West Africa.
